Ağacı bilmediğim için biraz araştırdım. Budamayla ilgili İngilizce güzel kaynaklar var. Bunlardan birini aşağıya ekliyorum.
Yazıdan satır başları:
* Yetişkin ağaçlarda budamayı en az seviyede tutarsanız güzel görünecektir. Fakat zayıf dalları kırılmadan önce budayın.
* Genç ağaçları 3 yılda bir defa, bir gövdeyi muhafaza ederek budayın. 15 yaşından sonra gövde üzerinde çok fazla budama yapmaya gerek yoktur.
* Eğik büyüyen, daha sonra kırılma ihtimali olan dalları budayın.
* Diğer dallara doğru büyüyen ve yıllar içerisinde ölen dalları budayın.
* 15-20 yıl sonra, ağaç yetişkin olduğunda, yapısal budamaya gerek olmayabilir.
* Budama için en iyi zaman, ağacın dormant olduğu kış döneminde yapılır. Budama öncesinde alet ve ekipmanları sterilize etmeyi unutmayın. Alkolden geçirebilirsiniz.

Jacaranda trees (Jacaranda mimosifolia) are known for their showy clusters of bright purple flowers that bloom for eight weeks in the spring. Jacarandas grow up to 40 feet tall and have wide, open canopies with plenty of space between branches. The canopies are naturally umbrella-shaped, but pruning can alter their structure. Mature jacaranda trees look best if pruning is kept to a minimum, but the weak branches necessitate some maintenance pruning to keep the branches from breaking and falling. Pruning is best done in the winter while the tree is dormant, although weaker branches may be more easily identified during the growing season. Jacarandas grow in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9 through 11.
1) Prune young trees every three years to keep one main trunk. Cut smaller, competing trunks back to the base. Make the cuts outside the branch collar to allow the wound to heal faster. This pruning will help improve the tree's structure, as the weaker trunks may split when the canopy gets heavier. After 15 years, the structure should be established and the trunk pruning will no longer be necessary.
2) Thin the canopy to develop stronger branches. Remove branches that grow at less than a 60-degree angle to the trunk, as they may break. Remove branches that grow at odd angles or grow across other branches. Cut the branch just outside the branch collar. Use pruning shears for smaller limbs less than 1 inch in diameter. A pruning saw is needed for larger branches.
3) Remove suckers and small shoots that emerge from old pruning wounds, or that grow vertically from branches.
4) Cut dead branches as you see them throughout the year. Remove them outside the branch collar, or cut back to healthy wood if only part of the branch is dead or damaged and the rest of the branch is strong. If you cut only part of the branch, make the cut just outside a bud or lateral branch to promote new growth.
TİP
After 15 or 20 years when the tree has matured, structural pruning should no longer be necessary and may cause irregular canopy shape if continued.
Sterilize pruning tools with bleach or alcohol before and after use to avoid spreading disease.
